Three Democrats are competing to be the Democratic nominee for U.S. Representative from Idaho’s First Congressional District.

James Piotrowski is a Boise lawyer who focuses on employee rights. An environmental activist, he wants to see that public lands continue to be managed for the benefit of all.  See more at his website.  Visit Staniela Nikolova is biology student at the University of Idaho. Her website gives details of her platform. Shizandra Fox is a certified diet counsellor in Sonoma, CA.

Boise businessman Jerry Sturgill is running for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Mike Crapo. He currently heads an investment banking firm and is a former chair of trustees for the Riverside International School in Boise.

One need not be registered as a Democrat to vote in the Democratic primary.

The four candidates running for the Idaho Supreme Court seat formerly held by Jim Jones recently participated in a forum.  If no candidate gets a majority, the top two vote getters will appear on November ballots.

Early voting is underway at the Elections Office, 11th and Chicago, Caldwell.  Those without a picture ID may ask to sign an affidavit instead.  Those having trouble voting may text or call Bob Solomon at 989-3611.

Disclosure:  The lineup pictured is of Democrats entering the 2016 caucus.  Lines will not be as long at precinct polling places.
